Who makes it
plusbeauxjours builds small, free tools that each do one job well, with sources. This one turns a name, a word or an icon into a carving stencil sized to your pumpkin, with bridges so nothing falls out, a difficulty rating for your tool, and a lit preview. There are no ads and no sign-up.
What stays private
- The stencil is made in your browser. What you type is never sent anywhere, never put in the address bar and never stored.
- We keep your settings (letter style, cut style, pumpkin size, tool, paper) on this device so the page remembers them, never your text or measurements. “Forget my settings” under the result clears them.
- We count visits with Google Analytics, plus the kind of stencil made (for example “words, cut out, medium”) and which button was used. Never your text or sizes. See the privacy policy.
How it is tested
Before you can download a stencil, the page checks it, and the same checks run in our tests on thousands of stencils:
- No floating pieces. Every part of pumpkin must still connect to the rest, both in the geometry and in a picture of the stencil drawn at 0.25 mm per dot, with every cut made a saw's width wider.
- Bridges as wide as promised. Each bridge is measured across, and no bridge may hang on a strip narrower than itself.
- Room between letters. Neighbouring letters are kept at least one bridge width apart.
- Prints at true size. The PDF is checked for page count, paper size and the 1-inch and 5-cm bars, and is drawn back into a picture to compare with the stencil.
- Calibrated difficulty. The rating is checked against a set of known easy and hard designs.
Fonts and credits
The four letter styles are open fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, turned into stencils by our own code:

- Slab: Alfa Slab One (opens in a new tab) by JM Solé (SIL OFL 1.1)

Headings are set in Fraunces and text in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, both SIL OFL 1.1. The 15 icons are our own drawings, released as CC0. The geometry uses clipper-lib (Boost Software License 1.0) and the 3D preview uses three.js (MIT).
